Due to the pandemic, Mohegan Sun must close its doors for the first time ever. Watch as this 24/7, 365 day a year operation shifts gears to help its local community and its own employees, while they simultaneously attempt to understand life during quarantine. Given the green light to reopen, Jeff, Mary and Dan lead team members, working relentlessly to figure out how to reopen one of the largest travel destinations. Ensuring the safety of both the guests and the staff is paramount. They must find a way. About Jeff: Jeff rose up the ranks quickly and justifiably, becoming President & General Manager of Mohegan Sun. He loves the guests, whether they’re coming for an overnight stay, a concert, a dinner, a convention, or a daytrip, but he really loves his team members most of all. Jeff thrives on the excitement of seeing teams coming together to accomplish almost anything. This year he took on his biggest challenge ever, COVID-19. He is determined to get the property back up and running safely while always offering excellent guest service. About Mary: Mary has been with Mohegan Sun for the last 17 years. This Director of Hotel Operations stresses the importance of working hard and getting along with your “work family” just as much as the one at home, especially since you sometimes see them more! She loves the excitement of her job and being able to work in an environment where every day holds something new and exciting. Delivering great guest service is her passion among the wide variety of other things she has to accomplish every day. About Dan: Dan joined Mohegan Sun’s team on day one in 1996. He doesn’t look that old though! A valuable leader, he has held many different positions over the years, and was recently promoted to SVP of Resort Operations. Dan is thankful to work in an environment that values the suggestions of all members of the team on every level. He spends his free time with his family and enjoys working on his classic car as well as riding around on his motorcycles. The holidays are back at Mohegan Sun! Chef Lynn and his team are building a life-size Gingerbread House. That includes teams from engineering, carpentry, security, EVS, marketing and more. The project requires notoriously long hours and can be quite stressful, but the team has some outside help too! Busloads of school children arrive at Mohegan Sun to put the finishing touches on this one of a kind masterpiece, and as a thank you, the Mohegan Sun team gives them a special surprise gift. The Holiday Season of 2019 was a truly magical time at Mohegan Sun. The property was transformed into a winter wonderland. Mariah Carey brought her holiday concert and put everyone in the spirit of the season. But the most dazzling spectacle of all was the huge drag queen holiday bash at novelle. It’s New Year’s Eve 2020 at Mohegan Sun. The range of festivities and parties this year is as massive as usual with well over 10,000 people in attendance. Lauren, Andre, and Tyler work as a team to ensure the evening goes off without a hitch. Will it? Can it? With Pyrotechnics scheduled for Midnight over the waterfall in the Shops concourse, and a total ballroom make over needed in under 1 hour in the convention center, anything can happen, and probably will. He has held many different titles at Mohegan Sun, none more satisfying, than his current position as Events and Promotions Manager. He has a small team, but they all support each other and embrace the challenge of pulling off some of the largest events and festivals at Mohegan Sun. When not working, he is looking to travel as much as possible or spend quality time on his couch with his dog Rogen. About Lauren Lauren has maintained an amazing level of creativity since joining Mohegan Sun seven years ago. As Public Events Manager, she has the dedication and energy that has led to countless incredible events. Lauren also makes a significant impact on her community through her volunteer work with the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut. In her free time she loves skiing, cooking, and going on hikes with her dog, Goose. About Tyler Energetic and enthusiastic, Tyler has brought his all to Mohegan Sun for 11 years. All around nice guy, he has worked in over eight different positions. Tyler’s ability to be a Jack-of-all-trades landed him in the position of, Events and Promotions Manager. His favorite parts of working at Mohegan Sun include planning and working behind the scenes to create wonderful guest experiences, and making all guests smile.
